Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run your membership:

• Parent or guardian details: name, mobile number and email address (which you also use to log in).
• Your password, which is stored in encrypted (hashed) form. We cannot see it.
• Delivery and pickup addresses.
• Your children's first names and their membership plans, start and expiry dates, and payment status.
• Your orders: the books requested, delivered and returned, and the dates.
• The date and version of this policy that you agreed to.
• Photos of a child reading and feedback quotes, only if you separately agree to share them (see section 5).

We do not collect payment card or bank details on the website. Payments are made to us directly, outside the website.

2. Why we use it

• To create and manage your account and memberships.
• To deliver and collect books, and to keep track of which books are with which child.
• To contact you about payments, renewals, deliveries and your orders, by phone, WhatsApp or email.
• To prevent fake sign-ups and keep the website secure.
• To keep records our business needs and the law requires.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who can see it

Only you and the Sahasra's Pageturner team can see your account details. We use these trusted service providers to run the website, and they process data only on our behalf:

• Supabase: secure database and login service (data stored in Mumbai, India).
• Netlify: website hosting.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: the "I am human" check on the registration form.

We share information with anyone else only if the law requires it.

4. Cookies and storage on your device

The website keeps you logged in and remembers the books in your bag by saving small pieces of information in your browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you clear your browser data, you will be logged out and your bag will be emptied.

5. Children's information and photos

• Accounts are created by a parent or guardian, who gives consent on the child's behalf. We collect only the child's first name.
• We publish a child's photo or a family's feedback on our website only with the parent's clear consent. We show first names only, never surnames, schools or locations.
• You can withdraw consent at any time. We will then remove the photo or feedback from the website promptly.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your membership is active, and for up to 2 years after your last membership ends, so we can settle any returns, lost books or payments. After that we delete or anonymise it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see section 7).

7. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• show you the information we hold about you;
• correct or update it (you can also edit your phone and addresses yourself in My Profile);
• delete your account and information, once any books with you are returned;
• withdraw consent for photos or feedback.

8. Security

Your information is protected with encrypted connections (https), encrypted passwords and access controls that let each family see only their own details. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your data. If we ever discover a data breach that affects you, we will inform you as the law requires.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the version number and date at the top of this page and, for important changes, ask you to accept the updated policy when you next log in.
